    Overgrow is a charity Pokémon fanzine featuring Grass-type Pokémon and Grass-type specialists in the Pokémon games.This project will include a zine as well as accompanying merch.

    What is a zine?
    A zine (short for fanzine) is an unofficial publication produced by fans. Usually, zines feature work from artists and writers, and may be accompanied with fanmade merchandise as well.
    Will this zine be for profit or for charity?
    The zine will be a charity zine. The recipient charity will be announced at a later time.
    What are the specifications for this zine?
    This zine will be an A5, perfect bound, CMYK with 300 dpi physical zine.
    Will you cover all Grass-Types?
    Due to the number of Grass-Types, we unfortunately cannot cover all of them. We will try our best to get a variety of spread!
    Can I apply for more than one position?
    Yes, you may apply to any position. In certain circumstances, some applicants may be accepted for multiple positions.
    How old do I have to be to apply?
    Contributors for the zine must be at least 16 years old at the time of application.
    How many contributor slots will be available to applicants?
    Including guests, we expect to accept ~40 artists, 6-8 writers, and 5-8 merch artists.
    How will contributors be compensated for their participation?
    All contributors will receive a digital copy of the zine as a minimum. Should funds allow, contributors will also receive a physical copy of the zine, and merch artists will be received a copy of their work.
    Full distribution of merch for all contributors, whether provided for free or at production cost, will be determined by the profitability of the zine. If we break even, shipping will be covered, otherwise contributors will be asked to pay for their individual shipping fees.What are the contributor expectations?
    Page Artists' contributions will be an A5 sized canvas in CMYK with 300 dpi.
    Merch artists' contributions will be done in CMYK, but will have different specs depending on the piece of merch that artists are assigned.Writers will be expected to create a piece ranging from 2.5k to 3k words.What if I have more questions?

    Application Guidelines

    Artists
    - For prospective artists, we are looking for 3-4 samples of artwork along with a portfolio.
    - We require that all pieces are completed works
    - At least one Pokemon-centric piece is highly recommended.
    - Judging of samples will be based on composition, use of colour, among other factors.


    Writers
    - For prospective writers, we are looking for 3-4 samples of writing between 1k and 4k, along with a portfolio.
    - We require that at least one piece is completed
    - At least one Pokemon-centric piece is highly recommended.
    - Judging of samples will be based on characterisation, pacing, and other factors.


    Merch Artists
    - For prospective merch artists, we are looking for 3-4 samples of artwork along with a portfolio.
    - We require that all pieces are completed works.
    - Judging of samples will be based on composition, use of colour, among other factors.
